Edgewater Physiotherapy are delighted to announce their professional relationship with Reynolds Academy of Irish Dancing run by dance teacher Julieanne Reynolds. With our extensive experience in the clinical and sporting environment we have been providing these young irish dancers with injury prevention measures, flexibility and pilates programmes. Julieanne and her dance school have been very proactive with injury prevention as dancers tend to suffer with overload injuries such as shin splints, achilles tendon and hamstring injuries.

Some of the measures employed:

Monitoring Training Load – Record keeping of muscle soreness daily
Pre Dancing Screening – Recording the flexibility of the following muscle groups (hamstring, calf, quads)
Pilates & flexibility Programmes – Employing measures to maintain good muscle control and flexibility
