We provide a dynamic, rapidly accessible Strength & Conditioning, Physiotherapy & Performance testing service for the general population to amateur and elite athletes. Offaly Physio & Performance Lab is a leading clinic in Physiotherapy, Sports Related Injury management, performance testing and return to play pathways for many sports. We employ the latest evidence based techniques and technology used in the treatment of clinical and sporting injuries. At Offaly Physio & Performance Lab we aim to improve injury management outcomes and patient satisfaction. The state-of-the-art facility houses Physiotherapists, Strength & Conditioning coaches and includes an ultra-modern Performance Rehabilitation Gym, astroturf and 4 pitches. Offaly Physio & Performance Lab is home to our cutting edge Biomechanics Laboratory, Performance testing, Shockwave Therapy & Rehabilitation Clinic.
Christian graduated from Curtin University with a Post Graduate Certificate in Clinical Physiotherapy. Prior to this he attained his BSc
in Chartered Physiotherapy from Cardiff Medical School. He also has a BSc Honours Degree in Exercise Physiology from
Glamorgan University. Christian is currently completing a Masters in Strength & Conditioning at St Marys University, London. He
works as a lecturer at the Technological University of the Shannon presenting the BSc Athletic Therapy & Rehabilitation
degree. He is also a member of Sport Ireland High Performance Panel for Physiotherapy.
His special interests are sprinting mechanics, chronic pain, spinal pain, tendinopathy and sports rehabilitation. Since qualifying as a Physiotherapist he has continued to build his academic qualifications with post graduate qualifications in spinal manipulative therapy, nerve tissue mobilisation, sprinting mechanics, clinical Pilates, advanced biomechanics, gait scan and orthotic prescription, dry needling & acupuncture, orthopaedic manual therapy & sports trauma management.
He has provided Physiotherapy for various International Athletes (Olympic Sprinters & Endurance Athletes, International Boxers, Paralympic Athletes, Professional Tennis Players, Professional Golfers, International Rugby Players). He has extensive experience in the sport setting and corporate environment.
David graduated from Athlone Institute of Technology with a BSc Honours Degree in Athletic Therapy and Rehabilitation. He has since gained a
MSc Honours Degree in Strength and Conditioning. He has further added to his academic qualifications with a diploma in Pilates and a
certificate in biomechanics enabling him to provide gaitscan assessments and orthotic prescription.
David has a special interest in repetitive musculoskeletal injuries, spinal pain, dry needling & acupuncture, post operative
rehabilitation (ACL, Spinal Issues, Hip Arthroscopy, Shoulder Reconstruction) and elite performance. His experience in the private
sector has enabl
ed him to become accomplished with musculoskeletal, neurogenic and orthopaedic conditions. David has extensive experience in the sport
setting with Inter County Senior Footballers & Hurlers, International Athletes as well as athletes from a variety of sporting
backgrounds.
David is an Athletic & Rehabilitation Therapist with a background in Strength & Conditioning over the last 9 years. He has a keen
interest in all things sport. His combination of Strength & Conditioning and Athletic Therapy skills has seen him work across a number
of sporting environments such as rugby, hurling, gaelic football teams, and at present SSE Airtricity League team Athlone Town FC.
David has a vast experience in the clinical setting, with a particular interest in neck, back pain, dry needling / acupuncture and chronic conditions. He enjoys working with all ages and abilities, and is fully committed to returning patients/athletes to full pain free function and mobility.
Megan graduated from UCD with a BSc in Chartered Physiotherapy. Since graduating she has been involved with Postgraduate research in UCD
developing apps for managing Athletes. On top of this she is an Elite Athlete with Irelands sevens team representing her country in the
World Series. This has enabled her to develop her knowledge of the Elite sport setting.
Her special interests include orthopaedic rehabilitation (post op shoulder, hip, knee and ankle), return to performance in sport,
biomechanics, spinal pain, tendinopathy and sports rehabilitation. Since qualifying as a Physiotherapist she has continued to build her
experience clinically with amateur and elite athletes along with providing physiotherapy for Offaly Ladies County Football team.
Jamie has recently completed a MSc in Physiotherapy at the University College Cork. Prior to this he graduated from the Southeast Technology
University with a BSc Honours Degree in Athletic Therapy and Rehabilitation.
He has a keen interest in spinal pain, post-operative rehabilitation, return to performance - ACL / Shoulder injuries and tendinopathies. Jamie has a broad experience in the hospital setting and elite sporting environments at Offaly GAA Intercounty Footballers and Cork city F.C to name a few.
Shane is a dedicated Sport and Exercise Psychologist in training, holding an MSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology with Distinction from
Staffordshire University. Currently, Shane supports the Offaly GAA squads in a Sport and Exercise Psychology role, where he focuses on
optimizing performance in competitive environments. He has also previously supported the Athlone ladies soccer team delivering an
intervention to help performance under pressure.
Shane's academic background is complemented by experience in lecturing in sport and exercise psychology, as well as the psychology of sports
injuries and rehabilitation module. This has equipped him with a strong foundation in understanding the psychological demands athletes face,
both during peak performance and recovery.
Shane has a keen interest in helping athletes perform under pressure, using evidence-based mental strategies to build confidence, focus,
and resilience. He is passionate about integrating psychological tools into the physical rehabilitation process to help athletes return
stronger, both physically and mentally.
